Due to the ongoing outside issues related to Covid-19, we will be closed for the remainder of the season. The safety, health, and well-being of everyone is, and will remain, our top priority.
We understand this might impact travel plans, but we appreciate your patience and understanding.
For mail drops, we will hold any package with a postmark dated up to and including September 15th. Any package with a postmark after this date will be returned to sender.
We are still providing water, free wifi, charging, and vending options for any thru-hiker.
There are several alternative lodging options in the city of Gorham, etc. but you would have to reach out to them for more specific information.
Thank you again for your patience and understanding, and we hope to see you in the future.
The Rattle River Lodge and Hostel sits on the Appalachian Trail against the backdrop of the Carter-Moriah Mountain Range and is gateway to the Presidential Range of the White Mountains. Built in 1877, this renovated New England colonial home on 7 acres does not lack for services, amenities, or modernity, while still keeping its original charm.
Our Hostel features the amenities and services for a restful stay.
The kitchen has always been the hottest spot at the Lodge!
Try one of the most challenging slackpacks on the Appalachian Trail! This famous 21-mile slackpack runs between Pinkham Notch and Rattle River Trailhead. For safety, if you think this slackpack presents too much of a challenge, then we suggest you attempt it over a period of 2 or 3 days. (We will hold any gear you don't want to carry on the slackpack.)
We love our guests and visitors! Feel free to visit us during business hours or look us up on social media! Please explore our website or send us an email via the contact form to the left if you have any additional questions. If you call and we don't answer, just leave a message!
