Located right on the Appalachian Trail, the Hostel was formerly known as "White Mountains Lodge and Hostel". Since its new ownership by Erik "Guardian of the Vortex" Barstow as of May 1st, 2017, it has been renamed "Rattle River Lodge and Hostel" to tie in its physical location along the Rattle River. Erik served in the Marine Corps as a Military Policeman from 1998 to 2002. He is also a LASHER (long ass section hiker), completing the Appalachian Trail in 2016.
